Common questions about TableCommander.

General

Is TableCommander free?

Yes, completely free. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no premium features locked behind payment.

Do I need to install anything?

No. TableCommander runs in your browser. Works on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet, but the web app is mobile-responsive for deck management. Gameplay is best on desktop/tablet.

Accounts

Can I play without an account?

Not currently. You need an account to save decks and track games.

I forgot my password

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. We'll email you a reset link.

Can I link Discord after creating an account?

Yes. Go to Settings > Linked Accounts to connect Discord to an existing account.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This is permanent and removes all your data.

Decks

How do I import from Moxfield?

Export your deck as text from Moxfield (click Export > Copy), then paste it into the import dialog. Direct URL import is coming soon.

How many decks can I have?

No limit. Import as many as you like.

Can I export my decks?

Yes. Open a deck and click Export to get a text list you can paste anywhere.

Are my decks private by default?

Yes. New decks are Private. Change visibility in deck settings.

Gameplay

What formats are supported?

Commander (including cEDH)

How many players can a game have?

2-6 players per table.

Can I spectate games?

Yes, if the host enables spectating. Spectators see the full board with a short delay.

Is there a timer or chess clock?

Not currently. Games are untimed and rely on social agreement.

Can I undo actions?

Ctrl + Z undoes your last action. Some actions (like shuffling) can't be undone.

How do I handle complex interactions?

TableCommander doesn't enforce rules. You move cards manually. Use chat to communicate with opponents about triggers, priority, etc.

Technical

What browsers are supported?

Chrome 90+
Firefox 90+
Safari 14+
Edge 90+

The game is running slowly

Try:

Close other browser tabs
Lower graphics settings in game menu
Use Chrome for best performance
Disable browser extensions

I disconnected from a game

Reconnect by returning to the table. Your game state is preserved. Click "Rejoin" from the lobby.

Cards aren't loading

Card images come from Scryfall. If they're not loading:

Check your internet connection
Scryfall may be temporarily down
Try refreshing the page

Legal

Is this affiliated with Wizards of the Coast?

No. TableCommander is an independent fan project. We comply with the WotC Fan Content Policy.

Where do the card images come from?

Card images are served directly from Scryfall. We don't host or redistribute card art.

Can I use TableCommander for tournaments?

Yes, for casual tournaments. We don't have official tournament support (brackets, prize tracking) yet.
